Remember when President Obama won the election in 2008? Remember the enthusiasm and overwhelming support for then-candidate Obama? Remember the immense national and global response from newspapers all over the world? Remember the sense of pride we felt that HOPE and CHANGE were on our horizon? Well, in case you forgot, below is a link to a site that captured pictures of front pages of local, national, and global newspapers the world over. Let this be a reminder of what we can achieve with the POWER OF OUR VOTES!!!
In 2008 the theme was “YES WE CAN“…and yes we did elect him. The theme in 2012 is “FORWARD“…and yes we can re-elect him to keep a progressive and positive momentum. Even if you have already voted, keep doing your part to spread the “get out and VOTE” message. We are 10 days away from making history again by re-electing our President to another term. Yes we can VOTE to keep it moving forward!!!
Former Secretary of State Colin Powell on Thursday endorsed President Barack Obama for reelection, arguing the president has improved the poor economy he inherited and sharply criticizing Mitt Romney’s foreign policy positions as a “moving target.”
“I voted for him in 2008, and I plan to stick with him in 2012,” Powell said of Obama on CBS’s “This Morning.” “I’ll be voting for he and for Vice President Joe Biden next month.” [READ MORE…]
Give me an O! Give me a B! Give me an A! Give me an M! Give me another A! What’s that spell? OBAMA! Louder!! OBAMA!!! (Channeling my days as a cheerleader!) Now go out and make your voice heard by VOTING for the President on Nov 6th or earlier if available in your state!! FORWARD >>> Here is a new campaign message narrated by Morgan Freeman.
Special moments with our President! Whether chillin’ with his daughters, out on the campaign trail, attending to executive duties, or spending quiet time with the First Lady, our Prez is all about taking care of business and looking out for us. He has our back and we’ve got his.
Keeping things moving FORWARD, I want to say how proud I am of the accomplishments President Obama and his administration have achieved thus far in his presidency. He is doing his best to make good on many of the promises/goals for the county that he laid out during his 2008 acceptance speech.
He will be the first to tell you that he is not completely satisfied with where we are. He has stated such. President Obama’s current campaign message, FORWARD, continues the momentum of HOPE and CHANGE and how far we have come since he took office. We all know that he inherited a hot mess left over from the previous administration. As President Clinton stated in his 2012 DNC speech:
“I like the argument for President Obama’s re-election a lot better. He inherited a deeply damaged economy, put a floor under the crash, began the long hard road to recovery, and laid the foundation for a modern, more well-balanced economy that will produce millions of good new jobs, vibrant new businesses, and lots of new wealth for the innovators … President Obama started with a much weaker economy than I did. No President – not me or any of my predecessors could have repaired all the damage in just four years. But conditions are improving and if you’ll renew the President’s contract you will feel it.”
We, the people, need to grant President Obama another term as POTUS so that he can continue to lead our country. He is a President for ALL the people, not some percentage of the population. He knows we still have much to do but he also reminds us of how far we have come.
“America, I never said this journey would be easy, and I won’t promise that now. Yes, our path is harder – but it leads to a better place. Yes our road is longer – but we travel it together. We don’t turn back. We leave no one behind. We pull each other up. We draw strength from our victories, and we learn from our mistakes, but we keep our eyes fixed on that distant horizon, knowing that Providence is with us, and that we are surely blessed to be citizens of the greatest nation on Earth.”
President Obama encourages and embraces ALL people. Our President reminds us that, “It will be a choice between two different paths for America. A choice between two fundamentally different visions for the future.” The choice truly is ours to make. We have a say in the direction our country takes by making our voices heard with our votes on November 6th. I choose to move FORWARD. Which way are you going/voting?
OK, here’s s little something to lighten the mood a bit in this critical, tense election cycle. Sometimes a bit of humor helps to maintain sanity. We all need a good laugh every now and then.
