Dr. King and President Obama

I love this image of Dr. King and President Obama: two great moments in history of two remarkable men. Congratulations, Mr. President! I think it is an awesome blessing and honor that the President will take the oath again on Monday, January 21st, using Abraham Lincoln’s bible and one of Dr. King’s bibles. The oath he took today, January 20th, was upon the bible of the First Lady’s grandmother. Tradition ~ Family ~ Love ~ Leadership

2012 Person of the Year

Person of the Year 2012

Congratulations, MR. PRESIDENT,
on being named the 2012 Person of the Year by Time magazine. What a man!

I am so proud of our President. He represents our country with style, dignity, grace, and humility, with a resolute, confident, and respected demeanor. He is a beloved father, a loving husband, a formidable political opponent, and a dedicated President. World leaders admire him and hold him in high regard. He was also named Person of the Year in 2008. He is a man of INTEGRITY who GENUINELY cares about America and its citizens, a man who does not waiver on his core values. Once again, Congratulations, Mr. President.

In an age of lost authority, Obama had managed to maintain his. In group after group, the voters told the researchers they believed the President was honest, lived an admirable personal life and was trying to do the right thing. “Here’s what I heard for 18 months,” Simas says. “‘I trust his values. I think he walked into the worst situation of any President in 50 years. And you know what? I am disappointed that things haven’t turned around.’ But there was always that feeling of  ‘I am willing to give this guy a second shot.’” READ MORE…

President Obama Thanks Chicago Headquarters Staff & Volunteers

America has spoken. The President has been re-elected. And he is thankful and grateful to everyone who helped in this endeavor. The fact that he took the time to visit the Obama headquarters in Chicago to offer a heartfelt and sincere thank you to the staff and volunteers speaks volumes about his character. His words of encouragement to these young people shows that he believes in them. He is the most powerful man in the United States and in the world, yet he felt it was his duty to let those who had his back know that he has theirs and he is humbled by this experience What a man, what a man, what a mighty good man!!

The Power of Our Votes

Remember when President Obama won the election in 2008? Remember the enthusiasm and overwhelming support for then-candidate Obama? Remember the immense national and global response from newspapers all over the world? Remember the sense of pride we felt that HOPE and CHANGE were on our horizon? Well, in case you forgot, below is a link to a site that captured pictures of front pages of local, national, and global newspapers the world over. Let this be a reminder of what we can achieve with the POWER OF OUR VOTES!!!

In 2008 the theme was “YES WE CAN“…and yes we did elect him. The theme in 2012 is “FORWARD“…and yes we can re-elect him to keep a progressive and positive momentum. Even if you have already voted, keep doing your part to spread the “get out and VOTE” message. We are 10 days away from making history again by re-electing our President to another term. Yes we can VOTE to keep it moving forward!!!

Colin Powell Endorses President Obama

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell on Thursday endorsed President Barack Obama for reelection, arguing the president has improved the poor economy he inherited and sharply criticizing Mitt Romney’s foreign policy positions as a “moving target.”

“I voted for him in 2008, and I plan to stick with him in 2012,” Powell said of Obama on CBS’s “This Morning.” “I’ll be voting for he and for Vice President Joe Biden next month.” [READ MORE…]
